Indie rock elder statesman Bob Mould is slated to release a live DVD entitled Circle of Friends October 9 via Trixie. The title is fitting, as the DVD captures a show Mould put in in October 2005 at Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 club where he was surrounded by a full band including ex-Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty. (Canty also helped Mould configure the DVD.) The show was the first time Mould had ever peformed old Husker Du tunes with a backing band. He also put in plenty of material from his Sugar days and his own solo recordings.
