Blur Will "Definitely" Do Something In 2011 Says Dave Rowntree

We already know that Damon Albarn is going to be a very busy man in 2011, with his projects including work on a new project with Flea and Tony Allen and rumors gathering that new Blur material is in the works. Now, drummer Dave Rowntree has spoken about the band’s plans, saying they will “definitely” do something together this year.

“Who knows that it’s going to end up like,” he said, in an interview with Gigwise. “What I do know is that we don’t want to commit ourselves to anything vast at the moment. We’re dipping our toes in the water, which is why we did the ‘Fool’s Day’ single in the way we did.”

“So yes, this year I would say something is definitely going to happen,” he continued. “Quite when, I don’t know, and quite what I don’t know – but yes, we’re all back together again and great mates." This may be vague news, but it’s likely to keep fans of the band happy, as it’s the closest we’ve come to official confirmation of Blur activities in 2011. Can we have some North American tour dates, please?
