In a recent chat with the BBC, Blur guitarist Graham Coxon, while not revealing too much, said that the band's upcoming summer reunion show at Hyde Park in Central London could feature "some surprises" in "perhaps" the form of new material.
The Britpop vets, of course, have not released a new album since 2003's Think Tank, but did confirm a few months back that they are working on material that may or may not develop into a fully fleshed-out record. Blur's Hyde Park show, which is the band's first since their 2009 reunion gigs and also features New Order and The Specials, will take place on August 12 at the close of the London Olympics and is being billed as "Best of British." Blur has only three shows scheduled thus far in 2012.
