Blur can say they’re “definitely” releasing a new album all they want, but we’re not going to get too excited until they announce a name and a release date. OK, we’re pretty hype after hearing that new track “Under the Westway” performed by Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon last week. But still.
For now, we’re cool with hearing that the band’s entire back catalog is being remastered by their go-to producer Stephen Street. He told Louder Than War that “it’s just great to listen to the tapes and think that now they sound so much better.” He continued: “They sound fuller, and wider, and I’m really pleased to be focusing on it. I’m really chuffed as a producer how it’s sounding.”
Excellent. Too bad he added that he’s doubtful about the aforementioned new Blur album. Blah, we’ll see. [CoS]
