Blur reunion in the works? Woohoo!

After rumors had been swirling for years of a Blur reunion, Damon Albarn has told BBC Newsbeat that long-anticipated reunion is "very much in the cards." This news will no doubt have some Blur fans wetting their britches, but before you go rediscovering your mid-90s cocaine habit and pissing on your Oasis CDs, keep in mind that this development could be a case of Albarn being Albarn. Just last month, Albarn announced that Blur was "over," which caused bandmate Graham Coxon to raise a very public 'ang on a minute.

Yet after working out things with Coxon, it seems that the Blur bug has bit  Albarn once again. Albarn, who has largely committed himself to his Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad, and The Queen work this decade, had the following to say:

"It's very possible I'll go back to Blur," [Albarn] said, "it really is very possible."[...]

"Graham and I have been hanging out together a bit," he said. "We had lunch the other day. He's great, it's fantastic to get my old friend back. So it's good, but I can't really say any more than that."

This is not the first intensely followed lunch meeting between the two; in fact, the last Blur lunch meeting was reported by Prefix 13 months ago to the date. Happy anniversary? It will be if this goes anywhere.
