Britpop legends Blur are looking to make one more release before potentially parting ways. Damon Albarn and friends are headlining the London Olympics closing ceremonies at Hyde Park this Sunday.
The very next day, August 13, the whole performance will be available on iTunes. Then, a week after that, a physical release entitled Parklife will be available. That two-disc set will include the closing ceremony performance as well as various recordings from Blur’s recent shows.
A five-disc deluxe version of Parklife will then be available this November. The deluxe Parklife is set to include extra audio from the Hyde Park show, a DVD of the event, another live album, Blur Live At The 100 Club, and a hardback book about the tour. Since the Hyde Park performance might be the last time Blur plays together, the various forms of Parklife could potentially be the band’s final release. [CoS]
