Blu's recent onslaught of (sort of) new releases -- including J e s u s and Amnesia -- continues later this month with the reissue of Open. The album's origins date back to September 2009, when Blu uploaded and released the then-fully instrumental project to free via his MySpace page. But since then, Blu has found a home of sorts with the folks at underground hip-hop haven Nature Sounds.
They issued the two aforementioned projects and will do the same for Open when it's released in a few weeks. The instrumental version of the album is actually out now on iTunes, but the version that drops later this month features Blu and a cast of like-minded MCs rapping on his jazzy beats. Guests include blog-friendly rappers Fresh Daily and ScienZe, frequent collaborator Sene, and newcomers Just Lee and Tribe of Levi.
The guest-heavy version of Open drops Sept. 27. You can stream lead single "Part Time Suckas," which features Fresh Daily and Chop, here.
