It's rare that we get to see an interview with Blu these days, but apparently he's ready to start promoting his forthcoming NoYork! album on Warner Bros. In the above interview with Hard Knock TV, he explains that he has been looking to do electronic-influenced hip-hop for a while. And that's an obvious allusion to the sound he's going for on NoYork!, which he says is set to feature production from guys like FlyLo, Dibia$e, Daedelus, Madlib, and other left-field producers.
Apparently the record, which Blu calls his "West Coast album," is in its mixing stages right now, though an actual release date remains unknown. He also touches on the fact that his second album with Exile will not be a Below The Heavens 2 and that they're kicking around about eight different names for the project. While we only get to really hear more about NoYork! here, hopefully that means that album will actually drop this year.
