The Blondie reunion has been a little light on recorded works, but the group is seeking to rectify that with the release of a new album titled Panic of Girls in September. No track listing is forthcoming at present, but it will include the single “Mother” (above) and Debbie Harry will apparently sing in English, Spanish, and French on various songs.
The most peculiar development is the involvement of Zach Condon of Beirut. Blondie has covered his “Sunday Smile” on the record, and it will also feature a guest spot by Condon. It’s hard to imagine how that will pan out, but it certainly makes this album a slightly more intriguing proposition than it would have been otherwise.
