With English like that and questionable legality, it must be a service from ... France! According to our careful Internet research, http://www.blogmusik.net/ is an iPod flash interface on top of the http://www.radioblogclub.com website. If you believe blog comments, at least. Whatever the sources, it provides a search front end to various folks blogging music for your listening pleasure. I started with "Nothin' but a G Thang" since it's an uncharacteristically pleasant September day in San Francisco, then moved to the Dre and Snoop of their day, Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. Right about that uncomfortable part in "Je t'aime moi non plus", I tried to hit up David Holmes rework of the James Bond theme (for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who's heard Let's Get Killed), only they didn't have it. To stew in my depression I brought up Radiohead's "Morning Bell". After that I wanted to see what Def Jux represented, so I tried pulling up El-P's "Squeegee Man", only I forgot how to spell the first word, or they just don't have it. Moving on to a search for Mr. Lif, I discovered a mash-up of Edan's "Rapperfection" with (wait for it) Radiohead's "National Anthem". Cool but not as cool as it sounds. In short, free streaming music from a country with balls enough to take on Apple in court. If you're brave enough to give them your e-mail, you can also create and save playlists.

This could potentially stick it to last.fm. Which is of course, a good thing.

I spent about two hours at Alamo Square, reading Wired mag and William Faulkner, because I'm a tech AND lit geek.I need to try last.fm, if only because I'm always skeptical of recommendation engines matching my deliciously eclectic sensibilities.

I messed around with it earlier. It's a pretty good time killer. Now it's not working though. I also changed the color of the iPod to white.
