Blogger who leaked new Guns N’ Roses questioned by the F.B.I.
Axl Rose must not have been happy about the Chinese Democracy leak last week, because he’s gone and made a federal case out of it. Kevin Skwerl, who posted the nine tracks on his blog Antiquiet, was visited yesterday by two F.B.I. agents. The purpose of the agents’ visit was to ascertain the source of the leak, which Skwerl, who says he no longer has the original files, has not revealed. Skwerl said in an interview with Rolling Stone that after posting the tracks last week, his website crashed from sheer number of visitors. He was then contacted by "a really cool guy from the Guns N' Rose camp that was a middle man between someone who was very angry and me. He was trying to reach out and see if I'd go without a fight, which is more or less what I did.” Skwerl described his posting as “a legal grey area, since it wasn’t for download.” Axl Rose has yet to make an official statement about the leaked tunes, some of which had never been released before Skwerl’s posting.
