Blog Unearths Details On Spike Jonze/Arcade Fire Collab

We’ve already established that Spike Jonze and the Arcade Fire have been working on a secret project together, and just to prove that nothing is safe from the ever-seeing eye of the Internet, some more details have emerged. Joel’s Arcade Fire Blog has got the scoop, revealing that the film’s working title is Scenes from the Suburb.

Filming on the week-long shoot apparently wrapped this past Sunday (April 25) in Austin, Texas, and a production assistant tracked down by the vigilant Joel claims it will be released in August. The blog also contains the casting call from the feature, which offers a few clues to the contents of the film:

    Extras Needed:

    * MILITARY: Men and women (over 18) with a military background or who look convincingly military. Any ethnicity. All body types considered. Especially need bigger/tougher looking men.

    * MOTHER: Age 40-60. Need frail/thin. Small.

    * TRUCKERS: Truck Drivers or those with a trucker look. Bigger guys. Facial hair okay. Age 25-55.

    * BUSINESSMEN: Corporate business types. Confident, capable. Age 40-55.

    * TOWNSPEOPLE: All ages and ethnicities. Especially looking for those with a middle class or suburban look.

    Day rate for all roles is $58/8, except for Mother, who is $100/12

    Paid/Non-Paid: Paid

    Meals/Transportation Provided: Meal, Beverages

Naturally, none of this is officially confirmed yet, and it's likely that the title will change closer to production. But at least your life is richer for knowing that a frail/thin mother type aged between 40-60 got paid $100 a day to be in an Arcade Fire video (probably).
