Bloc Party's Kele Okereke Tells NME About His New Solo Career

By now, we've all been dying to know what the deal is with Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke's upcoming solo album. And by we I mean die-hard Bloc Party fans who probably stalk Okereke and already know what the rest of this post will say but will nonetheless revel in the fact that they know things before the general public. This post is dedicated to you.

Well, as we know Okereke is about to release his album The Boxer (kind of like that album by The National from few years ago) on June 21, and his first single is called "Tenderoni" (kind of like that Chromeo song from few years ago). But, as he tells NME in an exlusive interview, Okereke, now 28 years old, had a free year on his hands while his band took a break and felt that "I can have time off when I'm an old man."

Shocking, isn't it? Catch the whole interview with NME here.
