Here's the video for "I Still Remember," off Bloc Party's forthcoming A Weekend in the City. The concept is a little cheesy, especially since trains are, at best, a minor theme of the song's lyrics, but it'll do. Speaking of the lyrics, not that it should really matter but I'm pretty sure we can pinpoint where all this "Kele is gay" talk began: You should have asked me for it I would have been brave You should have asked me for it How could I say no? And our love could have soared Over playgrounds and rooftops Every park bench screams your name I kept your tie On to more important matters though, "I Still Remember" is one of the better examples of A Weekend in the City's mellower sound. Is this a good move for Bloc Party, or were you hoping for something closer to Silent Alarm? Leave some comments below.
i guess when you come out you have to start wearing bad shirts.

The sound is total pop crap! Someone pulled these guys aside and said, "soften it up a bit lads, dont depress them with political rubbish, and you'll make millions!"
Todd Dalton
I bet that even more girls dig him now.
Dave Park
I hear ya Todd. The new album in general is way softer. I have to listen to it more, but so far I'm not liking it too much.
Dave Park
the video is just as weak as the record. damnit.

oh man, i don't like these bad reviews. Bloc Party had perhaps my favorite album of 2004, and I am trying to stay awom from listening to too many leaks before I buy. Are the songs more "bluest light" than "eating glass?"

Wow! That is terrible. Is this coming out on Vice? Good luck keeping that smug superiority intact guys...

I didn't like Silent Alarm and I think this is worse. You know you're struggling when the quote-unquote best part of your song is the background vocal. And the video literally looks like a screensaver. The part w/Kele in the boat is just embarrassing.

I Like it, its similar to Blue Light, So Here We are and Modern love off their 1st Album Silent Alarm.Takes some getting used to, the guitar rifts are more poppy sounding but the lyrics are more genuine than previous album.I LIKE IT!
Douglas Beamer
i'm not upset because they're mellower...i liked the quieter moments of slient alarm a lot because they were nicely crafted and still sounded somewhat unique. but this is just kinda blah to me.
