Sometime last night following the band's performace in Atlanta, Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong suffered a collapsed lung and was taken to a nearby hospital. There isn't a wealth of information available at the moment, but the band did release the following statement on its website:"Doctors at the hospital in Atlanta say Matt is in a comfortable condition and not in any danger, he will however be staying in hospital for at least the next three days for observation and it's not clear at this stage when Matt will be fit to resume performing."
These events obviously put the band's current tour supporting Panic! At The Disco up in the air. As of now, the band has cancelled upcoming performances in Charlotte, Fairfax and both shows in New York. We'll update you with further details once they become available.
