Blind Melon Reforming For At Least A Few Shows

After a bit of a false start in the form of a short lived reunion lasting only from 2006-2008, Blind Melon have announced they’re reforming – if only briefly – to play a handful of live dates. This is the third stab at reformation for the band: Since the death of original lead singer Shannon Hoon in 1995, they’ve tried to make a go of it with two other frontmen: Travis Warren, who left (or was kicked out; the band members have different recollections of precisely what happened) in the middle of a 2008 European tour, and Chris Shinn, who was announced as a fill-in to complete the dates, but never sang a live note because the tour was abruptly called off. Anyway, drummer Glen Graham took to the band’s online forum to announce the upcoming shows:

"We just want to confirm the rumors. Yes, the band has a few shows coming up. Travis will be singing. The future of the band is still up in the air. The guys are taking it very slow, this time around."

So, if you’re excited to see Blind Melon play a show with Travis Warren singing, you’re in luck. Dates are below:

November 27, 2010: The Aspen Festival (Aspen, CO)

November 28, 2010: The Bluebird Theatre (Denver, CO)

February 04, 2011: The Hard Rock & Casino (Albuquerque, NM)
