Black Lips, Lightning Bolt, No Age Playing FYF Fest

The annual FYF Fest has an identity crisis—it was formerly known as the Fuck Yeah Fest and the F Yeah Fest. But it remains one of the best places to go and see raucous indie rock on the West Coast during the dwindling summer days, and this year’s lineup may be their best yet.

Black Lips, Lightning Bolt, No Age and Times New Viking are among the acts confirmed for this sixth incarnation of FYF, which takes place at the Los Angeles Historic State Park on September 5. Tickets go on sale today at noon, and are a mere $20 each, with $1 from every sale going towards Homeboy Industries (http://www.homeboy-industries.org/) and Harvest of Hope (http://www.harvestofhope.net/).

The FYF Fest is also raising awareness for the drastic budget cuts that have beset the California State Park System—more details on that here: www.calparks.org. Further artists are expected to be announced for the festival, including comedy acts who will supplement the already announced Tim & Eric.
