The Horrors are promising to work with someone very special during the recording of their follow-up to the surprisingly great Primary Colours album. The band is retaining an air of mystery by declining to mention who this person is (Ralf Hütter? Holger Czukay? Peaches Geldof?), but singer Farris Rotter already has plans for a different collaboration.
The singer is set to appear with the Black Lips on a forthcoming single, which is ostensibly designed to promote the Atlanta band’s 200 Million Thousand album. The lead track on the single is “Drugs” from the album, while the B-side features the band and Rotter performing a version of the Black Lips’ “I’ll Be With You.”
The single is released on August 24 on 7-inch and as a digital download, and the artwork has been provided by the band and Rotter. Meanwhile, speculation is mounting that Trent Reznor, who has asked The Horrors to open for Nine Inch Nails on a spate of their final tour dates, is the mystery collaborator on their next record.
