Black Keys' Patrick Carney Producing Tennis' Sophomore Album

Ocean-obsessed Denver indie rockers Tennis have announced a random big name producer for their sophomore LP: Patrick Carney of the Black Keys. Carney is helming the album, due out in early 2012, and the first single (called "Origins") is due out pretty soon, apparently. What's surprising is that Carney somehow fit in the time to produce Tennis' album in the midst of finishing his seventh LP with the Black Keys. The mind races at the thought of Carney adding some blues rock thunder to Tennis' delicate pop, but the pairing sort of makes sense. Two throwback groups teaming up for a new album.  [CoS]
