Black Eyed Peas Shill for Target in Most Predictable Sell Out of All Time (Video)

· by

Look, I knew this was coming. I called it at the end of my review for the Black Eyed Peas' latest sonic genocide The E.N.D.; "All that matters is that this thing sells a few copies, ends up in an iPod or Miller Lite campaign and gets a few spins on the radio." I guess I had the product wrong (their latest single, "I Gotta Feeling," is in the Target commercial above) but part of me was hoping I would be wrong about the shill part too. It's like no one in the Black Eyed Peas has any sense of artistic integrity or shame, and will sell off their souls to the highest bidder. I just wonder how this makes people who liked the Peas pre-Fergie feel. I bet they feel like total assholes right now.

At least they're not in an ad that promotes Target's low tampon, Hamwich and detergent prices, and are promoting a "deluxe" version of their album. I shudder to think what "deluxe" means Re: Black Eyed Peas. Maybe the album turns into a coupon for two free CDs of your choice that aren't The E.N.D.

Maybe it's not selling out if the Black Eyed Peas' music is inspired by the low tampon and Hamwich prices at Target? Maybe?
