In 2009, Michael Jai White made one of the best spoof films in decades, Black Dynamite. Now, ComingSoon.net is reporting a sequel is in the works from the same cast and crew. However, there will be some significant changes to characters and instead of being a Blaxploitation spoof, White is going to parody the Western genre.
While promoting Alex Cross, White told ComingSoon.net that the sequel “looks like we’re getting closer to the decision of something… in that spirit of Blazing Saddles.” It seems like an odd pick, since a lot of the best humor from Black Dynamite stemmed from its dead-on replication of goofs found in classic Blaxploitation pictures. Regardless, you can check out White’s interview below and decide for yourself if he has the right idea.
