After a seven-year studio absence, the Black Crowes will release an album of all new material on March 4. Entitled Warpaint, the album was recorded in Woodstock, N.Y., and will be released on their label, Silver Arrow Records.
All of the 11 songs were written by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, except ''"God'''s Got It''" by the Reverend Charlie Jackson. The album marks the recording debut of two new band members, guitarist Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars) and keyboardist Adam MacDougall. Beginning on the album release date, the Crowes will perform Warpaint in its entirety in a run of ''"One Night Only''" shows. After which the band will play songs from their catalog and they promise some surprises. No show dates have been announced yet.
