Dave Longstreth and his Dirty Projectors have a very busy couple of months ahead. New album
Bitte Orca
is scheduled for release in June, and they’re also set to play the
Dark Was the Night
charity show at Radio City Music Hall on May 3. Now comes news to trump all these events: the band is teaming up with Bjork to perform a small, 300 capacity show at the Housing Works bookstore in New York on May 8th.
The show has been put together by the folks at Stereogum , and all proceeds will go to Housing Works , a non-profit that provides services for men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS. Tickets are priced between $100-$400 and are available at the Housing Works website , but will presumably go fast.
Bjork will perform music composed by Dave Longstreth on the night, and the show will also feature Dirty Projectors members Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian and Haley Dekle. Dirty Projectors will also perform some of their own material, and have been confirmed as the support act on the forthcoming TV on the Radio tour. Full Dirty Projectors tour dates listed below.
