Birds & Batteries, “The Golden Age Of Dreams” (Prefix Premiere)

The band name Birds & Batteries is already a perfect hybrid of organic and electronic, and the band itself follows that template on their new track “The Golden Age Of Dreams,” off their upcoming LP Stray Light. With singer Michael Sempert leading the way through the labyrinth of idyllic synths, Birds & Batteries sound like Cat Stevens if M83 were the backing band on the Harold And Maude soundtrack. It’s all very utopian and synth-driven, but with crunching guitars and a focused drum loop that work together to ground the flightiness.

Stray Light is out on August 7 through Eightmaps. Listen to our exclusive premiere of “The Golden Age Of Dreams” below, and check out the band’s tour dates.
