The currently super cool sounds of French electronic acts like Justice and Daft Punk didn't just fall out of the sky. Like any genre, it slowly evolved over the years. Now those who enjoy grooving to the likes of Cassius and Air will get a chance to bone up on some of the roots of that sound. On February 12, Los Angeles based label Everloving, which branched out into more electronic territory this year with Cornelius' Sensuous, is slated to release B.I.P.P.P.: French Synthwave 1979-1985. The compilation was originally put together by Parisian indie label Born Bad. It aims to give obscure French bands like Ruth, Comix, Vox Dei the wider recognition they never got in their lifetime.
