Phil Spector is still awaiting sentencing after being convicted of second degree murder on April 13. The full extent of Spector’s jail time will be revealed on May 29, and the sentence has caused considerable consternation for his biographer, Scott Raab. The 69 year-old producer is possibly facing up to two decades behind bars, and Raab believes he may not even start the jail term.
"He would kill himself first,” says Raab, in a moment of blunt honesty. “He is full of fear, and always was, and he lives with a sense of extreme vulnerability. He's an old man. [It's] hard to see a guy like that, at his age, surrendering to an 18-year minimum sentence."
Spector’s father committed suicide in 1949, and Raab believes the famed producer, who was notorious for allegedly waving guns around in the recording studio, may follow in his dad’s footsteps. "I do think Judge Fidler was heavy-handed in both trials,” said Raab. “I wish the conviction had been for manslaughter." Whatever happens, this is a sad ending to Spector’s career, albeit one that failed to surprise anyone aware of his reputation. [Clash]
Phil Spector is an idiot of the first degree...

Scott Raab says, "He would kill himself first. He is full of fear, and always was, and he lives with a sense of extreme vulnerability". How does he think Lana Clarkson felt when he had a GUN pointed in her FACE? We can only hope he does "off" himself! He is EVIL!

How would Scott Rabb know anything personal about Phil Spector. He wrote an article for Esquire magazine. The newsmedia who has crucified Phil Spector in order to help the prosecution glamorize and glorify a highly questionable woman (who mixed alcohol, vicodin, may have been a prostitute who played with guns - according to Baby Doll Gibson, seemed despondent, forged letters - presumably to use to obtain loans, and who was not a starlett but rather had a part in one film and possibly other small parts) is absolutely bizarre to me. In any event, Scott Rabb does not know Phil Spector.
I have known Phil Spector for 25 years and he is not filled with fear and has not always lived with a sense of extreme vulnerability. He has, however, lived with the fact that many many people have used him to make money and careers - including Leonard Cohen, Veronica Spector, and Mick Brown.
I wonder how Phillip felt when Clarkson was behaving bizarrely at his house, waving a gun, and singing Da Doo Run Run, before she shot herself - as he explained to me. One would assume - shocked and horrified. We can't expect the Clarkson Family to face themselves - there's money here which may be the reason they refuse to acknowledge who Lana Clarkson was and appear to have insisted, with the coroner, and others, that this was a homicide and not a suicide.

"He has, however, lived with the fact that many many people have used him to make money and careers".... Including you Kelley Lynch? You're just as delusional as he is!

Kelley Lynch, you are pathetic. Stop making a fool of yourself. Phil Spector spent massive amounts of money, buying the best scientific witnesses and attorneys, who practiced agonizing obfuscation tactics, delays, dirty tricks and Judge Fidler was more than a fair jurist with the patience of a Saint.
While I can understand how someone who knows the man would have some sentimentality and sympathy for his ordeal, the agenda of continuing to trash the victim, is beyond contemptible. Phil's immature wife, CHelle, begged her well-wishers to flood the media with propaganda continuing the myths of Lana's destructive tendencies, but, that doesn't mean they're true.
Very few people believe Phil got a harsh sentence. 18 years for killing a beautiful young woman, in cold blood, robbing her of the remainder of her life, then trashing her for six years, blaming her for her own demise, is more than fair. He may actually live long enough to taste freedom again. That is almost absurdly lenient.
We're asked to feel pity for an "elderly" man, whose long-standing hatred of women was legendary, and whose bullying tendencies with guns was even more legendary...I hope Phil stays alive long enough to suffer the way he's made Lana's family suffer the past six years.

Kelley, Kelley, Kelley.... Snap out of it, hun. It's time. I too had a close friend who was tried and convicted of murder. It was a shock to my system, and it took me years to comprehend the reality that he did this. It's hard to reconcile someone you admire and like, and THINK you know, with the Mr. Hyde lurking in the terminally dark recesses of their gray matter.
Spector was a paradox. Both a genius and a fool. An unattractive tiny mouse of a man, but, also, a self-described "ladies man."
Your dear friend, ( oops ), betrayed ex-dear friend, Leonard Cohen, eerily summoned up the prophetic reality of this enigmatic artist with his opus, "Death of A Ladies Man," as Randall Roberts of "LA Weekly" brilliantly observed:
http://www.laweekly.com/2009-04-16/music/leonard-cohen-leaves-some-traces-is-quot-death-of-a-ladies-39-man-quot-a-prophecy-of-the-phil-spector-lana-clarkson-incident/
Blaspheming the dead is bad karma Kelley, and we all need to focus on making amends as we get older. All of us have sinned, and can receive redemption and forgiveness, but, we must first make the agonizing step of getting right with our maker, and concentrating on things of goodness, not justifying an act of wickedness by perpetuating falsehoods and lies.
Ghost
Thank you Ghost for your comment.
Kelly- please leave Lana's corpse out of your vitriolic bag of revenge.
I was going to try to correct your "illusory" rant item by item and then realized it would be fruitless. Ghost hit the nail on the head in any case.
I will say that some of us who knew Lana have lived here long enough to know more than a handful of people who've also worked with and "dated" Mr. Spector. And know that those 5 gun threat victim stories that were allowed into the courtroom - were only the tip of the iceberg of his long history of gun play. In an odd way I do feel sorry for his current situation, but it was engineered by himself alone. Not unlike his formerly successful career.
If he had stayed with the confessions he'd uttered immediately after the crime was committed .... the "I think I killed someone" and the confession in the police report from the first arriving officer; saying he was sorry, he "didn't mean to do it", it "was an accident".... Had he been forthright about those things, I think Lana's family and friends could have found more space for forgiveness in their hearts and likewise the jury and the judge.
But as it was, he elected to go the other route and try any means possible to exculpate himself from his crime and smear the victim. And in doing, so he racked up the worst possible karma. You're joining him in that decision.
At the end of the day-- people are often smarter than they're given credit for. Jurors included. The brain tends to connect dots on its own even when a defense attorney stands in front of them waving shiny objects for distraction. Just prior to the hung jury in the first trial, it was 11 to 1 Guilty before one juror was pressured to join the solo guilty verdict juror. This time- unanimous Guilty.
I won't be scribbling nasty screeds about Phil Spector all over the internet although I easily could - I have first hand stories to make hair curl from people who knew him well. All I ask of you Kelly in return is to PLEASE stop spitting on Lana's corpse in public forums. It makes you look foolish, desperate and small, if that's any incentive. You surely have better ways to spend yourself.

Who is this Kelly Lynch? (phony name?) And does anyone know how to find her?
G.Reaper
Spector had 14 (count 'em) telephones in that creepy old house, but did he call 911?
No. He was too busy "cleaning" up the evidence.
That alone speaks volumes about his guilt.
And I agree - get over it Kelley.
Go back to your obsessing about Cohen and the IRS.
Good suggestion
