Billy Joel (Via Guillemots' Fyfe Dangerfield) Licenses First Song For Commercial

· by

Until the above video, Billy Joel had resisted any requests to license his songs to any TV commercial (which is a bummer for everyone, I bet). But the king of schlock just got involved in the commercial game via a cute ad for U.K. store John Lewis that features Guillemots' Fyfe Dangerfield covering his "She's Always a Woman" as we watch a little lady turn into an old lady. I always thought "The Longest Time" would work well in a jewelry ad, so maybe that'll be forthcoming? Or at least "We Didn't Start the Fire" in ad for Buffalo Wild Wings? [Stereogum]

who ever wrote this needs to rethink their career, the headline nearly as long as the story, then the story is full of self opinion and lacking in fact, plus lots of mistakes.

the song is named "the longest time".

I agree with everything Lee says - except the song is actually titled 'For The Longest Time'.

Chillax dudes, the song is titled "The Longest Time." Not "For The Longest Time." My mistake.
