Billy Corgan's New Book On The Way; Fancies Himself A Multimedia Writer

Billy Corgan and the remants of the Smashing Pumpkins have thankfully been out of the headlines for a number of months, as things have seemed to calm down for the woebegone alternative rock icon. The latest news from the Corgan camp is his plans to release a new book, his first since 2004's book of poetry Blinking With Fists.

 

Details are still mum, but on the announcement on Corgan's blog, he proposed, "Current ideas I have would include a filmed video series of interviews, inclusion of newly written poetry, and maybe even to have some kind of EFHTT gathering/dialogue/symposium with anyone interested, 3-4 times a year, with the possibility of recording and broadcasting it here."

 

It kinda sounds like a Bunny Munro-esque project, just with a shred of the credibility.

 

It's pretty hard not to rubberneck at whatever Corgan is up to these days. Nonetheless, there is a spot of good Smashing Pumpkins-related news, as Corgan and his former bandmates have settled their lawsuit with Virgin Records over disupted royalties.
