Billy Corgan has been acting erratically in recent times. He performed some execrable jams at Smashing Pumpkins shows, cast aspersions on the H1N1 virus, set up a spiritual website, and was even rumored to be dating Tila Tequila. What better way to deal with all these demons than a bout of public psychoanalysis?
On Saturday (Nov. 14), Corgan met with Morgan Stebbins at the Rubin Museum in New York, who gave him a thorough psychoanalysis. "What about confronting the monster?" Stebbins asked, in a key moment in the discussion. "That's a tough one, and I'm not talking about the obvious monsters," said Corgan, who was wearing a cape. "I lived with a monster in New York."
The discussion was to honor the discovery of Carl Jung’s manuscript of The Red Book, which is on view at the museum. "My step-mom would tell me that she would get complaints from adults that I stared too much at them," Corgan said. "'Can you tell him to stop staring at me?' they would tell her. That has followed me all of my life. I realize I'm a mirror." Did Tila Tequila feel the same way?
