Billboard has a list running through the decade in one-hit wonders, and after some research, they concluded that Daniel Powter of "Bad Day" fame is the decade's most significant one pump chump, as his single topped Billboard for more than a month before he fell of the face of the Earth in 2006.
Among the other picks is Fat Joe's "Lean Back" (first 50, now Billboard; Fat Joe has had a bad year), Crazy Town (the number one band among date rapists everywhere), MIMS, Blu Cantrell and James Blunt. They also threw in Gnarls Barkley, which actually makes sense, since "Crazy" hit number two, and their other singles didn't even break the top 85.

The list is from Billboard, so no artistic or technical merits whatsoever. Just charts. So you see the likes of Gnarls Barkley up in there along with MiMs, S Club 7.
Bad Day? Really, that's their decade's biggest, most earth shattering One Hit Wonder? I only heard that song on AI (the farewell song for the losing Idol.) I didn't even know it was that massive that it even reached number one.I thought it was specifically written for AI. What year of the decade did Billboard begin? 2005? For how long did that song hang in there? And why is Lou Bega's "Mambo no. 5" in there? It was released in 1999. Technically, it should be from the 90's, but if billboard's basis was that it stayed on the charts even after 99, then that should be the winner.
If you asked me, James Blunt You're Beautiful should be on top. That lyrical (and vocal) horror of a song enchanted even Oprah Winfrey.
