It looks like a handful of funny people and A-list stars (not that the two are mutually exclusive) have been cast in Larry David's new HBO improvisation film Clear History.
According to Variety, Amy Ryan, Bill Hader, Eva Mendes, Danny McBride, J.B. Smoove, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton and Kate Hudson will all star in the film. Talk about a promising cast.
In the film, Larry David himself will play a character named Nathan Flomm who destroys his professional life at an electric car company due to a disagreement with his boss. Nathan moves to a Massachusetts island, where he changes his name to Rolly DaVore. When his old boss arrives on the island, Nathan sets out to get revenge. The plot certainly sounds like the eccentric fare David's become known for from Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
HBO is the home of David's critically acclaimed series Curb Your Enthusiasm, which has not yet been renewed, because David has not yet decided to go forward with a ninth season. The show's eighth season ended last Sept.
David is co-writing Clear History with colleagues from Curb Your Enthusiasm. Production will start in Massachusetts this fall. The film's premiere date is still uncertain.
