Scion's King of the Beats competition took place in NYC last night at the Canal Room. All of the beatmakers had skills, but Frequency from Long Island won the crowd over and took the crown. He'll be battling against the regional final winners from LA and the ATL on November 4th at BB Kings. Although Frequency won the competition, the illest beat of the night hands down went to this kid RyChiss who probably had about 100 rappers begging for that beat at the end of the show.
While the beat battle was fun and entertaining, I was at the show to watch my favorite rapper growing up, the legendary Big Daddy Kane. Every rapper should see Kane perform because even at the age of 38 his show is liver than anyone else's in 2006. Pics and another video after the jump!
