In which the two-timing rhythm section of Jared Warren and Coady Willis finish recording Mind the Drift, the fifth paddle hit in their ping-pong game between Melvins and Big Business albums. Some things are the same about the duo's third album with Big Business, titled Mind the Drift and due out in April: Jared and Coady are still working with producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins) and it's still coming out via Hydra Head. And at least one thing is very different: Big Business is now a trio, with guitarist Toshi Kasai recording with the band for the very first time.

One new track, titled "Gold and Final," was just released via Big Business's MySpace page. Depending on how you hear it, Kasai's elegant guitar lines either detract from the song's heaviness or add some needed complexity to Big Business's sound. More grist for the snap judgement mill, gents!
