How much credit should we be giving Solange Knowles as an integral part of her sister Beyonce's boundary pushing career? Apparently, more than we have so far.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, which dubbed the pop star "artist of the decade," she lets slip toward the end an interesting dream collaboration:
There's so many people I'd like to work with still, but I'd like to maybe go outside of the box. My sister [Solange] has put me on to bands like [indie group] Of Montreal and some other different types of artists. I would love to do something like that on my next album.
So let's do a little math. Beyonce and husband Jay-Z show up at Grizzly Bear concert in Brooklyn, proclaim themselves fans, people go crazy. Sister Solange covers "Stillness is the Move," a song by Dirty Projectors -- a band who freely admits being influenced by Beyonce -- that is picked up by every blog covering music in record time. Throw a little Of Montreal into the mix, and it all adds up to something pretty huge. Let the speculation begin! [You Ain't No Picasso]
