Jay-Z and Beyoncé, music’s biggest power couple, are reportedly planning to make a proper album together. The duo have of course recorded several hit singles over the years, not to mention just completing their huge double-billed “On the Run Tour,” but according to DJ Skee on Dash Radio, their next project is actually a joint album:
Jay-Z is no stranger to joint albums, having completed projects with R. Kelly, Linkin Park, and Kanye West in the past, but I think everyone can agree that a record with Beyoncé would be something else entirely. Of course, it’d also be the biggest album in the world.
Beyoncé scored big points late last year with a surprise album release on iTunes, an album that went on to great success and critical acclaim. Jay-Z’s last release, Magna Carta Holy Grail, was not quite as well received, but the rapper has still had eight number one albums in a row, so he can’t complain. Combining forces as the duo has on mega-singles like “Crazy in Love” and the recent “Drunk in Love” would certainly be a smart move for both artists.
The couple also has a television concert special from the “On the Run Tour” premiering on HBO this Saturday. Here’s the trailer:
