Montreal's The Besnard Lakes will be peddling their spooky psychedelics to a much wider audience now, as the band has signed to indie stalwart Jagjaguwar. The group's first effort for the label, The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse, is set for release February 20, 2007.For the uninitiated, the band consists of six members but revolves around the husband-and-wife duo of Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas. Helping them out on this record will be various members of the "Montreal scene," including George Donoso III of the Dears, Chris Selligman from Stars and Sophie Trudeau from Godspeed You Black Emperor/Silver Mt. Zion.
