Benefit concert for Rogue Wave drummer announced

Some sad news out of the Sub Pop camp yesterday, as apparently Rogue Wave drummer Pat Spurgeon is in need of a kidney transplant. Apparently Spurgeon was only born with one kidney and it failed on him. He already had one transplant thirteen years ago, but now that kidney is failing and he's currently and seeking a donor.
What the band has decided to do, is put on a benefit concert September 30 in San Francisco at The Independent to help raise money for care, bills, and travel expenses for a donor, should one be found. In addition to Rogue Wave, a host of other acts will be performing, including Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie,) Matthew Caws (Nada Surf,) and John Vanderslice. If you don't happen to be in San Francisco but still want to help, you can donate through Rogue Wave's website. You can read the entire story, which includes ticket information here.
