It's been just over a year since former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was killed in her car just weeks before the Pakistani election in which she was a leading candidate for reelection. Since then, Musharraf has stepped down, and Pakistan's politics have been no less chaotic, but the nation of Pakistan has still been reeling from Bhutto's death. On New Year's Day 2009, a video was posted on YouTube of Bhutto's 18-year-old daughter rapping in memoriam of her mother.
Somewhere in between M.I.A. and "Candle in the Wind," Bakhtawar Bhutto's "I Would Take The Pain Away" points to her mother's strength, the senselessness of her death, and all the things Benazir's eldest daughter wishes she could say to her mother now. Bakhtawar goes to University of Edinburgh, and her 20-year old son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is the head of his mother's former party while still studying at Oxford. Benazir Bhutto herself studied at Harvard, where, in the interest of full disclosure, she was dormmates with my dad.
Unfortunately we had no good leaders ever. Only Bhutto was the best of all.
Benazir , Nawan Shareef, Zardari .. all sux! they really don't deserve to be called leaders of our country.
I hate all of them.
