With the announcement of Ben Folds Five’s new album The Sound of The Life of The Mind, it was also announced today that the band will be making an appearance at NYCC (New York Comic Con) on October 11, 2012 at the IGN Center. Their performance will be presented by Western Digital, the makers of digital storage and home entertainment products.
Jim Welsh, executive vice president for WD’s branded products and consumer electronics groups stated:

We support artists, hobbyists and creative professionals of all types as we know their digital storage devices need to be reliable and entertainment products effortless to use and of the highest quality.”
Every year the NYCC has grown bigger and bigger. Last year they attracted over 100,000 fans and boasted some of the biggest panels ever featuring the cast of ‘Avengers’ and ‘Breaking Bad.’ The event has evolved from being a haven for comic book and anime fans to a pop culture gathering for the masses. They’ve expanded to film, video games, culture and literature.
NYCC this year will take place October 11 – 14 at the Javitts Center in Manhattan, New York. The Ben Folds Five concert at the IGN center within the Javitts Center is free for NYCC VIPs and 4-day ticket holders. The concert is a first come, first served basis.
