Video: Beirut "Nantes" (Live at the Masonic Temple)

Last night Beirut opened the first night of a three date stand in NYC for their current tour. The show was part of the Wordless Music Series and took place at the Masonic Temple in Fort Greene, which was probably the oddest venue I've seen a show at this year. It initially felt as if I was at a high school auditorium waiting to see a talent show and at the start of the show everyone was firmly planted to their seats. Fortunately, things picked up very quickly as Zach Condon got the crowd to stand up and move towards the stage. From that point on until Beirut left the stage, the room was energized and full of smiles.
