Ultimate Classic Rock has a pretty interesting history piece up right now about yet another piece of Beatles memorabilia that is ridiculously expensive: The butcher/doll cover of their Yesterday and Today compilation, which has gone for $85,000, but usually goes for anywhere between $2,000 and $15,000.
So here's the story behind the cover: Apparently The Beatles were mad they had to take another cutesy photo for another album, so they decided to cover themselves in meat and dolls to just give a finger to their record label. The label printed a bunch of the new cover, but ultimately decided to switch it to something more wholesome. But, luckily for collectors, the cover still got out, and they're worth a lot of money now. $2,000, at least. To read more about the cover, go to Ultimate Classic Rock.
