Behind Eminem's Super Bowl Advertising Push

Want to know what was behind Eminem's Super Bowl ad domination this weekend? Ask Advertising Age, an ad magazine/site that talked to Eminem's marketing team about his ad game.

Working with more accessible music was one advantage for Eminem's marketing team, but the sometimes reclusive artist himself remained a bit of a challenge. "With Em, you've got a guy that maintains his iconic status by probably being a little more mysterious than a lot of artists today," said Christian Clancy, a former Interscope marketing exec who now handles Eminem's marketing strategy exclusively. "In an age of really heavy artistic transparency he kind of flies in the face of convention. So how do you market around that?"
