Beck Recording With Dwight Yoakam, Getting Into The Publishing Game

It seems like forever since the last proper Beck album, but the guy has at least been keeping pretty busy. He was the guest designer for the summer issue of Zoetrope: All Story and contributed to recent releases by Thurston Moore and Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks. Perhaps the most interesting pairing is yet to come, however: according to a Dwight Yoakam press release, Beck has been recording with the artist for an as-yet unnamed project. If that isn’t interesting enough, Malkmus said in a recent interview that Beck was looking at founding a private press for limited run releases of drawings, poetry, and other writings. Maybe the first project will be his collected conversations with Yoakam about how awesome it was to be in Slingblade and Red Rock West. [TwentyFourBit]
