Beck and pals have been making their way through the Velvet Underground's Velvet Undergound & Nico, and while they've still got a handful of tracks to release, Beck has already announced the next album he'll be covering front to back: Skip Spence's Oar. But that's not all: the friends helping Beck to cover Oar are a little band known colloquially as "Wilco."
Wilco recently stopped by Beck's haunts in L.A. to record the album, and presumably it'll start seeing release when Beck and Giovanni Ribisi finish Nico. For those not in the know, Spence was a sometime member of Jefferson Airplane and Moby Grape who had a brief solo career before being diagnosed with schizophrenia. [Pitchfork]
