Beck and Devendra Banhart seem to have forged a close creative bond, recently convening to collaborate on the Record Club project. They are about to pair up again, this time for the new Todd Solondz movie, Life During Wartime. Their unusual contribution is a cover of a song written by Solondz, that actress Shirley Anderson also performs in the film.

The Banhart/Beck song will appear while the closing credits scroll, and was co-produced by the twosome. Banhart also has another song, “Heard Somebody Say,” featured in the movie, which originally appeared on his Cripple Crow album. Life During Wartime won a screenwriting award at the Venice Film Festival and is slated to be released before the end of 2009.
