XL delivers Be Your Own Pet tracks that Universal deemed too hot for stores

Remember when it was revealed that Be Your Own Pet’s record label Universal (home to family friendly acts like 50 Cent, Young Buck, and She Wants Revenge) banned three tracks on Get Awkward, the Nashville punkers great sophomore album, due to violence? Well, the band’s European label, XL, is going to release the three main offenders (the relatively tame Blow Yr Mind” and “Black Hole,” and the teenage homicide ode “Becky”) as their own special single. It’ll be out digitally on June 3, and the CD and 7” will hit stores June 24.

XL promised they would do this back in March (since they released the album, with the cuts Universal said were too violent, internationally), and now they have delivered.

I'll need to get my hands on this. "Becky" is a great track.
