The BBC has announced plans to air a tribute to The Beatles next month that will feature previously unheard outtakes, studio conversations and other rare footage of the seminal band. All four members, as well as producer George Martin, will provide archival narration for "The Beatles on Record," which will begin airing Sept. 5 in the UK as part of the network's Beatles Week series. The documentary was directed by Bob Smeaton, who was responsible for 1995's "The Beatles Anthology," and is set to contain over 60 songs by the Fab Four as it captures the Beatles' evolution in the studio. Currently, there are no plans to screen the doc on BBC America. [Rolling Stone]
