In a landscape where the populist rage against enormous banks (like Chase Bank), for essentially playing three-card monty with the country's finances, is so great, how does such a bank improve its image in a region (the western United States) where it really had no presence until recently? Clearly the answer involves releasing a series of "Blue Sky" commercials whose inanely positive imagery will piggyback off of the popularity of songs like John Lennon's "Instant Karma." Can't get the rights to the original? Find a bizarre, relatively obscure singer like Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy to do it, and presto! Why thank you Chase Bank and advertising agency McGarryBowen; I had never noticed before, but we all do shine on! Also, I think I'd like to open an account.
This is so, so strange. On so many levels. Boggles the mind really
F--k.

This is not strange. On any level. Mindboggling.

If they were honest, they should have used the verse:
"Instant Karma's gonna get you, gonna knock you off your feet, better recognized your brothers, everyone you meet."
JP Morgan Chase are the biggest crooks in the nation, always have been. They are not our brothers and they have knocked the entire nation off its feet. John Lennon must be rolling in his grave!

Strange or not, this version of the song just sucks. And what the **** does Instant Karma have to do with banking? Yoko is making some unusual choices.

Chase sucks and so does Peter Murphy.Rock and Roll music should never be part of any advertisement. I'm surprised Yoko would let it happen, I guess she's a sell out too. Any Rock musician that would permit his music to be played on commercials is a total sell-out. Advertising is a big part of what is wrong with America.
