The internets were afire earlier this week with news of Zunegate: a report had Barack Obama using a Zune when jogging, a “shocking” development after he spent time saying he was an avid Mac/iPod user on the campaign trail. Apparently the Zune wasn’t Obama’s—he owns an iPod, and does not rock the Zune on the regular.

It’s not clear whose Zune it was Obama was using, but the original reporter of the Zune story, Neal Santos of Philadelphia City Paper, is now saying the Zune might have been a secret service agent’s.

So now the Microsoft has to go back to looking for a new spokesman, someone with a less presidential pedigree. I wonder if John McCain is available (burn!). [PC World]
