Bangladesh Says He Never Got Royalties for Lil Wayne's "A Milli"

"A Milli," the second single from The Carter III, was a radio earworm that invaded the minds of anyone who could hear from 2008 into 2009. One of the men largely responsible for this is hip-hop producer Bangladesh, who's also done tracks with Beyonce, Gucci Mane, and M.I.A. to name a few. According to Bangladesh, he was never paid for "A Milli," which is a pretty mindblowing thing to say once you consider how enormous that song was, and how essential its minimal beat was to that success.

Bangladesh told VIBE, "I don't fuck with [Lil Wayne]... and you can print that. Cash Money don’t pay royalties. The Carter III, [is] his biggest album probably because of 'A Milli.' [But] you have to sue these guys so that they pay up."

That sounds crazy, but Jim Jonsin, who produced "Lollipop," and Texas producers Play-n-Skillz, who produced "I Got Money," have both taken legal action against Cash Money for royalties owed them.

Bangladesh sounds off on Cash Money further in the VIBE piece, which you can read here. [Nah Right]
